I have used Roxio to burn a dual-layer dvd, while at the same time creating a disc image for future use. I would like to use the disc image to burn multipul copies of the original disc that I've burned, but when I try to select the "Disc Image" option in nero, it gives me the reply, "compilation will not fit onto a blank disc". I want to burn dual-layer discs from this disc image because it takes 4 hours rendering the video from the original compilation. Can anyone help me? Is there a plug-in I need to acquire from Nero, or can Nero not perform burning disc images by use of dual-layer disc drives?

No, the problem I'm running into is, I have a Disc Image that is 8.4 GB in size, which I created from Roxio. Nero won't burn it onto my dual-layer discs. I have to use Roxio every time, which takes 4 hours each because of its rendering process. Doesn't Nero have the capability of burning dual-layer disc? If it does, I'm not seeing it?

nero will do DLs which version of nero do you have?
I would use imgburn anyway which is freeware , its very good with DL
and if its taking 4 hours to burn it sounds like your drive/burner may be in PIO mode you need to get it back to DMA mode. uninstall the IDE controllers in device manager reboot and they will reinstall correctly or use this guide

download imgburn here

i wonder?
if your "image" of 8.4 is too big, and thats why your app has to encode it for 4 hours everytime then burn
shouldnt be though for dual layer, i spose you did a 1:1 image copy?
try loading your image to dvd shrink "check size"
whats the format type of this "image" ?

I think I'm explaining this horribly. Either that, or I'm giving this thread more credit than it's worth. Roxio has enabled me to squeeze 2 and a half hours of video onto a dual layer disc with little compression. Whenever anyone begins burning a home video project, it takes a lot of time to render the video. Once the video is rendered, only then can the disc be burned. Because of the amount of video that I am trying to burn, this is the reason it is taking 4 hours. Roxio offers a special feature with their product. During the process of that 4 hour burn, it allows you to create a disc image. This disc image is created so that in the future, i can use a disc burning program and have it burned in the amount of maybe 15 minutes. This disc image bypasses the need to render the video all over again. The only problem I am running into is, NERO won't accept this image unless I shrink it down to the size of an average 4.7GB dvd disc. Is there a program out there that will allow me to burn this Disc Image onto a Dual Layer disc without cheapening the video's quality?
