I am a complete novice girl and I want to know how to back up my camera photo's onto a cd-R using Nero 7 ultra. I seem to be able to do it ok except that when the disc I started is re inserted it wont let me add any more pix. In other words can i put pix onto the cd and then later add more pix to the same cd. Thanks Tina

When you run Nero StartSmart and elect to make a data CD, after you add files, but just before burning, the program gives you the option of making a multi-session disk.
If you make a multisession disk, you can add further files to that cd.

So there's no confusion any disk whether cd or dvd that has RW (CD-RW or CD+RW including DVD-RW or DVD+RW) is the only media apart from DVD-RAM that can be ovewritten by mistake, the CD-R that your using cannot overwrite what's already put on the disk,so you have no fear of losing the photo's already placed there, another point you need to be aware of is always have a backup of any photo's that are important or any data that's on cd or dvd media, this includes flash memory cards, basicly always keep a copy out of harms way.

The only thing that I would add, is that this multi-session business (I think) uses a fixed amount for overhead each session.
If the number of files (and size of those files) is large, then the relative amount assigned to overhead is small, but if you add say, 1MB of new information you may be losing ten or twenty times that to overhead.
I don't know if there is a limit (apart from available space) for the number of multiple sessions on a CD.

if you make a word doc, save to cdr, then edit the word doc and save back to cdr same file name it will over write it.
