Cant burn DVD/CDs with nero?

I recently bought a new cd\dvd burner and I tried using to to burn cds with nero express and here is what I get. Drive not ready. I burned a cd with windows media player and dvd with another program but I cant get nero to burn my cds. The reason I dont want to use WMP is because it doesnt burn the mp3 tags into the cd like nero does. Are there any other programs that have the same features as nero? Also my burner is a SATA drive and I dont have that so I had to get a converter for it. I dont think this is the problem though b/c it reads and burns fine with other programs.

I can see in your log where it said Drive not ready although on checking firmware, you have the latest available, also Disc changed..only thing I can think of is that your burner doesnt like your Ritek discs.

Ritek??? Im using memorex music cd-r. tried using maxwell cd-r same thing nero stalls at 5%.

I tried that app too. It hangs up when it gets to the end of the lead in part. Is my drive not capable of burning cds with text
? Because I sucsesfully burned a cd with WMP but that does write cd text. Or should I return this burner and get a different one? i have been looking at this one
