right hi everyone, firstof all can i ask for patience or sympathy.
my mate has a psp fat??, he can play games off the mem card. i have been searching through this and other forums to see how i do this on my psp. i think i have a good idea of wat 2 do and am just seeking reassurance, and put to me in layman terms.
ok, i have a psp running v2.81, from what i can gather, i have to downgrade to v1.50, download all updates ( 3.52m33 & 3.71 m33 ) place them in certain folders on my mem stick, boot up my psp, run the 1.5 downgrader, after completion run 3.52m33 and/or 3.71m33. after that i am able to either umd dump or download iso's to my pc and then add them to the same mem stick, or can i use a new mem stick just with games on.
is what i have written anywhere near to what i should be doing or am i one step closer to having a shiny black brick

hi do u have a copy of Grand Theft Auto Liberty City Stories The unpatched version of the game contains the 2.0 update
if u have it go to this site it has all the downgraders HERE just scroll down and click -2.81 - 3.03 Any Motherboard

yes your correct for most of it.
as you said you need to download to 1.50
to do this you need to have a copy of GTA LCS and update your psp to 3.03 or you can use your friends psp to create a pandoras battery. its up to you but if you have GTA i would go with that one.
if you click on my userbar you'll find tutorials for both 3.03 and pandoras battery.

thanks guys wat a fast response, i have a copy of gta lcs so i will go with that wen my daughter stops crying and gives me 10 minutes peace

once you do get to 1.50 you might want to update to 3.71m33 or 3.80m33 or 3.90m33 because they are the most newest cfw out at the moment.
before you can update to 3.71m33+ you will need to update to 3.52m33-2,3,4 because it has a patch that allows it to run that previous cfw didn't.
to get to 3.52m33 you need these files
3.52 update [link]
1.50 update (which i presume you have already) [link]
3.52m33 updater [link]
3.52m33-4 update [link]
then follow the readme in the 3.52m33 and 3.52m33-4 folder or you can use the tutorial thats in my userbar.
for updating to 3.71m33-4 all the stuff is here (then you will need to install the 150kernel addon)

for the 1.50 addon all the files are here

someone had a problem with the 1.50 update and found that they needed to put the 150.pbp into the root of the memory stick. so if you find that it doesn't work then try that.
thats all for getting to 3.71m33-4 but if you want go get to higher cfw skip the 3.71m33 part and click on my userbar theres a tutorial there that will help with updating to 3.80m33 and 3.90m33

if you have a trade in version its more likly it will be unpached. as 07anto07 said if it has a 2.00 ofw update on the disc (bellow the disc icon) then you should be fine and can use the downgrade. the other thing that you could look at is the 3.50 downgrade which needs the game lumiens to downgrade. i would try that one before pandoras (if you have a copy of the game) because pandoras requires another cfw psp or you have to open the battery up and cut one off the pins

i depend if you want to downgrade using lumines requires no psp with cfw and thats how i downgraded so i can walk you through it all if you want (just pm me)
or you can use pandoras battery soft mod need to know someone with a cfw psp
or you can use the pandoras battery hard mod version no cfw psp needed but you will need to open up and cut a pin from your battery and then resolder it.
or you can buy a datel tool battery and then use that to downgarde or install cfw with the need of a cfw psp
if you choose pandoras the tutorial all there if you click my userbar and there at the top of mod & firmware section.
if you do use the lumines make sure that you get a 2nd hand one from game if they dont have one game exchange is all way a good bet
because they put a patch on the newer lumines game to stop people downgrading 0_<
