I tried to use DVD 43 but it didn't work with my burner software. I tried to uninstall, but I can't get totally rid of it no matter what I do. I tried all the suggestions on the forum , but none will totally remove it. I still have the little yellow face on the tool bar, and when I do a find file function there it is...but it will not let me delete it. What's up????

Use Ccleaner (registry cleaner)
Defrag your system.
Reboot.

how are you deleting DVD43? do you just delete or do you go to CONTROL PANEL and then uninstall from the list there? check your START UP programs and make sure that DVD43 is not listed there or take it out! then do an uninstall! run your registry cleaner and defrag and reboot. Problem should be gone then!

I did exactly as you suggested...downloaded CCleaner, used it...
de- fraged, re-booted...it's still there. When I do a find file...it shows up but cannot be deleted. Control panel un-installer didn't do it either. What the heck? One thing did change...the yellow face is now white...but mine is now red.

when you try to uninstall........ is there a DVD in your drive when you attempt the uninstall? If there is then DVD43 is trying to work.... and maybe that's why it won't uninstall!!!

The Unlocker idea didn't work...when I right clicked the icon nothing like that appeared...however I found the DVD453 in the Startup menu and disabled it. Then believe it or not I was able to delete it...now it's finally gone. Interesting side bar...when I downloaded and ran the registry cleaner as one suggested...my DVD Drive and DVD Burner both suddenly ceased to function. They would not appear in my computer. I found another person discussing the same problem in the forum, used the suggested fix, and it worked great (something with upper and lower filters)....I am back in business after only 4 or 5 hours of head scratching. Thanks to AfterDawn.com. Bless You All!

Randy try this
click http://download.microsoft.com/download/e...1bd/msicuu2.exe
to download a cleanup program from the Microsoft Web site.
2. Next you'll need to agree to a series of security warnings. After the install process has completed, click Finish.
3. Click Start in the lower left corner of your screen and from the Start menu, select All Programs, or Programs. Look for a new program called Windows Install Cleanup. Click on this program and a new window will open up on your desktop.
4. Go through the entire list displayed in the window, and look for anything with the word dvd43. Click on that entry, and select the option to remove dvd43. You will need to remove any files listed in here related to dvd43
5. After all of the dvd43 files have been removed, close the Windows Installer Clean Up utility window, and restart your computer.

Someone mentioned "Unlocker. Sometimes that might not be an available option.
The only way I got rid of my 55000+(as in fifty thousand, and you can call me "chump"!!) 1Kb rar files that were generated on my desktop(God, what a nightmare!) was using a small batch script placed in Startup and reboot. You can delete that way files that are locked by a certain process without installing another application(which sometimes might be impossible if the PC is semi frozen).
Piss me off, and I Will ignore You!
