R4 replacement of DSLink. Potential Problems?

Hi, I'm new to all this so please bear with me. I bought a DS from when I was in China. The mod he installed was DS Link. I believe from my hazy recollection that he installed flashme onto the NDS firmware. I believe this review of the DS Link confirms that suspicion: http://forums.maxconsole.net/showthread.php?t=29626.

I don't like the DS Link for a few reasons so I am about to purchase an R4. Reading up on the R4, it sounds like no passme/flashme is needed. That makes me wonder if there will be any issues switching from my flashme'd DS to the R4.

Sorry if this is a dumb question. Reading up on flashme leads me to believe I have a modded NDS firmware. Just hoping there'll be no problems wiht the move to the R4 or that there's a way to reflash the NDS to a supportable firmware version.
