Nero is great because it has many applications all in one package. You can do many things with it. I use Nero 7.10.1.0, but version 8 is out now and many have upgraded to that ... I don't know about which version 8 is stable.

here is a free burning app that everyone loves and did I say it's FREEEEEEEEEEE? http://www.imgburn.com/

There are many more programs but Nero and ImgBurn... good start!

I think there is no stable version of nero 8.
i try 4 versions and nothing seems to work. in all 4 .

The latest wont even burn audio cd's..
I get an unsupported files error ???

i think for burnig cd or DVD's there are other and scheaper sollutions.
I prefer Ashampoo Burning studio.

Never problemms with that program.
With nero 8 allways problems.
If you want to use nero try Nero 7,10...

Thats the Only 7 version that works error free .

there are plenty of versions of Nero that work good. And just because one person can't get Nero to work doesn't mean that all versions of Nero 8 are buggy! give a shout out to Gwendolyn or Binkie7 and they know more about Nero 8 than I do! They can guide you to a good version of Nero 8. As I said I used Nero 7.10.1.0 flawlessly. no bugs for me there. You can find it here:
Nero 7.10.1.0:

and there are soooooooo many burning softwares out there that does everything you can imagine..... here are some of the other programs I have:

so if you have a specific thing you want to do I know plenty of programs.... but to ask what burning program is best..... there are too many to choose from! Do you mean you want one that does it all from ripping a DVD, encoding and then burning so you can make a perfect copy of a movie DVD? there are plenty of one click programs to choose from! then which gives the best quality, which does it faster, what program can do episode DVDs better than other programs, what program burns CDs, Mp3s, VCDs, ect.? To ask what is the best burning program out there........ exactly what do you want to do?
