I'm thinking of buying a DS after my IGCSE exams and need some info.

On many torrent sites I have seen NDS games that can be downloaded. are these ISOs like those for the PSP?

How can these be run? I would really like to know. Can they be run without the actual game crtridge??

Thanks

Unlike the PSP, NDS games come in the form of ROMs not ISOs. Hence, they are to a great extent smaller in size. There are several flash carts available out there--the R4DS being one of them.

Yes. If you have a back up ROM of a game, you can put it on a memory card (just like any other computer file), put the memory card in the aftermarket cart, put the cart in the DS, and run the ROM just like (most of the time) the original cart.

It is very useful for backing-up your original game carts and then being able to have 20 games but only having to have one card inside one cart when you leave the house.

Yes, this is what you use to run ROMs. Basically, flash cartridges utilize flash memory such as Compact Flash and Secure Digital memory cards to hold memory in place.
