Running the latest version of AnyDVD and DVDFab?
If not update them. There's also a beta of DVDFab out - 4.1.1.5 - out today you might want to try.

Newest for anydvd but not the dvdfab beta. I can hear the disc making noises in the tray. One month old Liteon which has been perfect up till now.

It's a Disney movie so it's probably loaded. AnyDVD w/ Shrink doesn't always work on these.
I'll check it out when I get home but don't expect any problems w/ AnyDVD & CloneDVD.
Give the latest DVDFab a go and keep us posted.

I just tried it with the beta dvdfab with no luck. Anydvd gives me a warning saying it cannot read it. The avydvd version ends with .7 I think. I just burned I Am Legend and The Seeker with no problems.

I tried it again and get nothing from dvdfab. My version of anydvd is 6.3.1.7. Anydvd gives me a message saying that my drive is RPC2 and is not assigned a region. Try to assign one or get an RPCI patched firmware.
Like I said, I've been using this Liteon for awhile with never a problem and did two movies before I tried Enchanted. Three programs say there is no disc in the drive, (avydvd/dvd decrypter, dvdfab platinum with the newest beta, ripitfor me)

Do you have another drive you can try and rip it from?
I used the latest AnyDVD - 6.3.1.7 and CloneDVD.
I ripped with an older Pioneer and it take take a couple of minutes longer for the information pop up from AnyDVD to pop up.
The region thing shouldn't be a bigger since AnyDVD makes the drive region free. The message means that you might not have set the region on the drive (they come not set to a region).
I think also in that same message it says something about a dirty disc too.
Check and make sure the firmware is up to date on the LiteOn.

The liteon has the latest firmware. This is the first time dvdfab and anydvd have failed to work. I even tried ripitforme. They all basically say that they see no disc. I'm no expert at this but it doesn't make sense to me. I had no problems with "I Am Legend", or "We Own the Night", or "The Seeker", or "Gone Baby Gone", or "No Country for Old Men". I have the latest anydvd 6.3.1.7 and the newest dvdfab beta installed. Why would anydvd work with "clone 2" and not with "shrink"?

@inazsully
AnyDVD has a new update out today = try that.
AnyDVD removes the copy protection on the fly and that doesn't always work w/ Shrink esp/ with this one being loaded with copy protection unlike the other that you ripped. Shrink needs an update but that won't happen since it's no longer updated.
Do you have another drive you can try? Set the region on the LiteOn and see if that even makes a diff.

i ripped this movie successfully w/ the newest version of dvdFab, but when i try use the "write data" option in dvdFab, a window pops up saying it failed to find the DVD information for this title and to email them (dvdfab) the .ifo files.
anyone else gotten this problem? it did it to me on full disc and customize, and i even tried movie only and it still posed a problem during the burning process

Did you try the beta? New one out today - 4.1.1.6..
You can also try running the ripped files through FixVTS.
@inazsully
Forgot one thing - try the ripper in AnyDVD.

Thank you binky7 for the fixvts reminder! That made it able to go thru dvdshrink then and gave me an excellent burn. I was origianlly able to rip to my hard drive with clonedvd4, but after burning the quality was horrible-kept skipping like crazy and unwatchable-tried several times. Tried to burn it with dvdfab 4116 and same problem, awful quality.
I had tried to rip with dvd decrypter, dvdfab platinum - several versions, anydvd with the new update and the previous version, the only thing that ripped it for me was clonedvd4.
So rip with clonedvd4, run it through fixvts and then use dvdshrink to burn.

R2 release has that "invalid path" nonsense again.. Already cracked that one earlier this year.
Otherwise all the usual disney tricks, invalid menu structures and bad sectors.. nothing new there then. The disk structure, with all the unreferenced menu entries, reminded me of the Jungle Book platinum issue TBH..

Sorry, a dumb question...sort of a newbie. I have always used ripit4me with dvddcryptor/shrink to burn all my movies no problem. Up until now that is. It won't work on I am legend or Mr. M. Wonder Emporium. I have dvdfab, anydvd and clonedvd installed on my computer but I have never used them before. Yesterday I used dvdfab to save all files for Mr. M. to my hard drive and it worked fine. But now what?? When I click on the file on my C drive there are 2 sub folders audio_ts and video-ts. What do I do with these 2 files? How do I know get this file to an image file to burn to a dvd? Can someone tell me in simple terms please, I appreciate it.

Ok, I'm still having trouble with Enchanted! I've managed to copy the VOB files to the movie to my hard drive, after running FixVTS. I then ran the files through Shrink and it seem to decode just like any other movie. I burned the disk and it seem to work fine. The problem is, the movie won't start in my computer or dvd player. Can anyone tell me why? Sorry about this, never used FixVTS before, maybe I did something wrong!?

I had no problem with using dvdfab platinum 4.1.0.2. I rip the entire disk, not just the movie, and the write function worked with no problem for me at all.

renzandjo - wrong thread...

- the thread's here somewhere; in fact if i recall correctly this movie only needs DVD Shrink on it's lonesome; if i'm wrong then use DVDFab
However all that's needed is DVDFab, just make sure it's up to date
