Mine does the same thing, makes a horrible noise, right around a certain .vob file. Any other movie works fine. I haven't tried AnyDVD, but although I have never downloaded or used it in the past, wehn I download it now and run it, it says my trial period has ended!
I've tried DVD Decrypter and the newest DVDFab as well, neither will decrypt this DVD! I can't take the DVD back to the store as the movie plays fine in my DVD player and they check that the store I buy them from.
Any ideas?

try backing up the movie only ripping with dvdfab decrypter if it still doesn't work its your drive unable to read/rip the DVD correctly. can you try a different brand drive? here are the latest backup methods.if you downloaded anydvd and it says your trial period is over then at some point you had it on your machine you will have to buy it or reformat windows to get it again

Hi gang!!! I am still having trouble getting this movie to copy. I refuse to give the original to the kids -- you all know how 5 & 7 year old treat dvds -- and they are hounding me to give it to them lol!
I have tried any dvd (latest update)with shrink = doesn't work
I have tried dvddefab (latest 4. version) = the program freezes up.
Any ideas???? I am going nutz with the kids hounding me to watch this.
Peace and thanks!

I finally got it! I used Fix VTS and then I ripped it with DVD Fab Decrypter and burned it with DVD Decrypter and I'm watching it right now and it's a great copy. Try it!

Quote: the FixVTS part may not be necessary for the 2 you are trying to do
It's not always necessary, but DvdFab doesn't rip as clean as Anydvd. It only takes a few minutes to do FULL DVD, so it's nice to add just for a little tweaking.
I incorporate FixVts as part of my normal ripping process.
