Hi
I have had a dvd writer for 3 months now and nearly every movie i have copied onto dvd has not played back smoothly.I have tried swapping the media to a better ritek go4
These are the methods i have tried.

dvd+&- with nero
dvd+&- with copytodvd (all these i have tried at different speeds)
dvd-r with Instant copy 8

I have tried the dvd's in 3 players now which are all compatible with the discs.
I have tried copying with a few dvd+rw and they have produced nearly perfect copys (some gliches).
I finally thought it was the spec of my computer because it is not very good
500mhz athlon
218mb ram
but people have been telling me they can do it ok with a similar computer so i am completly lost now.
any help at all would be great
cheers
P.s the original vob files from all the films play ok on the pc no probs

What sort of movies/files are you talking about?

Slow your burn speed down to 2.4x.

Gently but thoroughly blow out your burner with canned air. Note not to place the nozzel to close to the innards of your burner.

Defgrag often.

My 2 cents worth. Good Luck.

You need IFO, BUP and VOB files for Nero 6 to work for you. For each IFO file you have you should have a matching (same size) BUP file. If you don't have BUP file(s) you can create them easily. BUP files are 'backup' files of your IFO files.

[1] Copy your IFO files to another folder.
[2] Rename the file extension to BUP.
[3] Move the BUP files to the folder you IFO and VOB files are located.

This method assumes the IFO, BUP and VOB files are ripped from a DVD.
