I was going to use my old monitor and install an 8800GT. I'm trying to at least get Oblivion to run at full settings without any lag.

I wouldn't advise going with a Dell system for gaming unless you're prepared to shell out big bucks, you'd be much better off building a gaming PC yourself from parts. We can help you do that.
