I am having trouble with my burner, It cant read the new DVDs (HP Invent DVD-r) i just bought. When i try to burn it says please insert blank media disc, thats weird because right before i burned a data DVD just fine with the last dvds i had (Memorex DVD-r). Thre drive still reads disks it just wont recognize blank ones. I am using a TSSTcorp CD/DVDW TS-H652L with 0803 firmware and have tried multiple burning programs heavy and light with no avail. Could a whole pack of DVDs be faulty and there a program that i can use to test if my Burner is working properly?

first off ...... it's soooooooooooooo hard to read your writing as there is no punctuation marks. Try adding commas and periods!

HP media is crappy media. When having problems the first things you do is look at the media you are using. Make sure it's the best! Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim (made in Taiwan/Singapore) are the ones that are most recognized in burners and their quality are the top choice to use!

If you use quality media and still have trouble then you have to look at what you are doing..... what programs you are using...... and your burner.... is the firmware up-to-date.... all these questions have to be looked at. You don't have any information on programs, what you are trying to burn and how you are doing it! We need more information.

First off sorry about my punctuation, hope you can read it better now. I mainly use Nero 8 and am trying to burn a Data DVD with mixed content. I have updated my firmware to the latest version. I also tried a lighter program called Complex Evolution. In Nero it hangs on the checking disc and says please insert blank disc. In Complex i get a disc error message

I have also experienced the same problem. I went out and bought some Vertabim discs, and the problem was solved.

The European/Asian brands are the way to go.
