i think you mean the heat sink paste? like it goes between the heat sink and processor? http://shop3.outpost.com/{fk8sRQYrl8usjA...CH:MAIN_RSLT_PG
if thats the case i'd say DONT use crazy glue or elmers or dirt water mix
Why on earth for under $10 for paste would you take that chance? It's very vital you know. and if the processor isnt cooled right your system can go into reboot from over heating every now and then and you'll be hunting for the problem forever.
take from another forum:
Q
I'm out of thermal paste. Are there any recipes for "homemade" thermal compound? I can't go out and buy today. Please, just don't say this: "Wait for tomorrow" or something like that.
A
Um...not unless you just happen to have some silver lying around....
A
Don't be an idiot and wait for tomorrow.
A
Toothpaste works very well...until it dries up and crusts, then it performs horribly. So if you want to use toothpaste, just make sure you reapply the paste every like 45 minutes.
HAHAHA I think you just did the "most WTF question of the year at afterdawn dot com"
good luck and peace

Pin-modding a CPU. What's this for exactly? I would never recommend conductive pen on a processor.

To what level of success? Everybody I know who's messed with conductive pen has destroyed said device shortly afterwards...

the ones i've seen were worked on around the capacitor area not the pin at all.

what is the point of that. you can do that with overclocking.

i never understood over clocking
why not just go buy a better processor?
time is money and the time put into it has to be valuable
but thats just me and thats why i stay away from overclocking questions (besides not knowing how to do it)
i like stablity over speed
good luck

Hmm, why not buy a 4Ghz Quad core? Because they don't exist!

I dont need a 4 ghz quad core.
2.4ghz is more than enough for me.
Heck, even my e6300 was enough for me.
I just wanted to have a lil bit of fun with an old cpu, that's all.

That's fine. In all honesty though, you're not going to gain much out of a old P4 Prescott, you may as well up the voltage some and get a good cooler for it to squeeze the most out of it.
