Sudden loss of ability to burn DVD backups

I have been burnign dvd backups for half a year now. The setup I've been successful using for the last 4 months or so is dvddecrypter>DVDShrink>CopytoDVD and I am using DVD+R media (all different brands). Last month though something happened and I started getting read errors. I also backup ps2 games and I have fewer problems with them ( i use recordNowMax and Alcohol120%). I dont have any problems when burning to DVD+RW when i test burn on those, but then i'll try to make a permanent copy on dvd+r (verbatim right now) and I get read or write errors and thus a coaster. I always burn at minimmum speed.

Can anyone help me to figure out which element is the cause of my problems? Burner (buslink brand), media, program, something else?

if you have recordnow max, try that instead of copytodvd. recordnow is a great burning program. check out the settings as listed here:

Thanks for the reply noone else would on cdrom-guide. I also just found out there is firmware upgrades for my drive (its an AOpen sold under buslink name.)
