DVD menu doesn't work on standalone player

Hello,

I've copied the entire DVD using DVD Decrypter, then compressed with DVD Shrink and recorded it using Nero. I can watch the new disk on PC as well as on standalone player, but the menu items only work on PC.

Standalone player shows the menu, but none of the buttons work, no navigation between buttons... I can only watch the movie on standalone player by jumping to "next chapter".

I did not re-author DVD nor changed anything, just copied the entire content.

I would understand if menu didn't work at all, but it works correctly on my PC, so I can't imagine why it doesn't on a standalone player...

Any advise?

You should not use Decrypter with DVD Shrink. Just use shrink and try again.

Thanks -- I didn't know that when I tried...

The problem is that I don't have that original DVD anymore, and the only thing I have is DVD Decrypted copy on my hard drive - it is not recompressed, just decrypted thus I still have to recompress it to fit onto DVD-R.

Would it help with menu if I compress it with another tool (not DVD Shrink)?

I still don't understand why menu works on PC but not on standalone player...

Unfortunately compressing further is only likely to make things worse. Try playing in another standalone.

Are there tools that would allow me to alter the menu of copied DVD?

I would try to alter menu a little hoping it gets fixed by that...
