Pioneer DV-400vk Replacement Horror Story

Regarding the Pioneer DV-400V DVD Player.
God Help you if you need a warranty repair or replacement!
I had two of these units within a six month period. The first became defective after only 2 months. It completely stopped reading any DivX files (MPEG,AVI etc)and would only read regular movie DVD's.

Getting it replaced under warranty was a complete nightmare! Pioneer is by far one of the worst electronic companies I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with!

Terrible and incompetent customer service that had to be seen to be believed! I went around in circles for weeks with complete idiots and jerks who kept transfering me to someone else!

To make a long story short, after weeks of aggravation with customer service and over two months with the unit out for repair I finaly got a replacement.

Even more unbelievable is the fact that the replacement was also defective! It would only read AVI files and nothing else!
I am now in the process of waiting again for a second replacement! It's already been two months and counting! The man at the service Center says the unit needs a software update that had to come from Pioneer but the person who was supposed to send it was on vacation.

Maybe if I'm lucky I will get a replacement by Christmas! The two units have spent more time in the shop then in my living room!

Pioneer, very bad quality and even worse customer support!
