Hi, i have a toshiba satelite P10 with a 2xDVD writer. I was wondering what kind of time frame i am looking at to burn a dvd. I have some dvd's on my hard drive which i have backed up using decrypter and i am now going to burn them to dvd using Nero. I have done one and it took about 20mins to butn 4.3gig to the dvd. but now its taking about 60mins to burn the same amount of data!?

is this correct? i am using the same make/speed of dvd-r which is 4x.

Should it take an hour to burn the dvd or is something wrong.

Also does anyone know the address of a websit where i can obtain a firmware upgrade for my dvd writer if there is one available!?

You can get new Toshiba firmware upgrades from here:

sounds like it's running in PIO mode rather than DMA.

Go to the devices manager and uninstall the IDE controllers and then reboot
