3) whats the best card to get? i have between: AceKard 2, CycloDS evolution and M3DS real.
Reasons
AceKard2: its cheap, ive heard that no games are choppy on it (including final fantasy)
CycloDS: REAL TIME SAVE
M3DS real: heard good things about it, comes with rumble pack and GBA device.
my main concern is the choppiness. are there any reports of any of these cards running choppy with any roms?

I just got a CycloDS and its great. I haven't experienced any choppiness on any games, but bear in mind I don't have final fantasy and can't verify if that is choppy or not.
The real time save is going to be good, but bear in mind it is far from perfect at the moment, and the current process actually involves making a separate file (which is very large) which it saves to and is very annoying. They say it will be fixed soon, however and a better solution is near.
And as far as I'm aware there is no way to boot GBA games from slot 1.
