Help..DVD-Rom only reads Software Cd's not DVD's

Hello. My dvd-rom (dvd-105) only reads software cd's and it spits back out the dvd's. Does anyone know how to fix this problem? Is it the drivers. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
