Sony 2gb flash drive problem

i am using my flash drive for a long time and its been working great but suddenly yesterday when i plugged it in there comes a message "{drive not formatted ,you need to format it } but when i try to format it , it says { cannot format },,,now if any one could heelp me ...i would thankful..

Fash drives don't last forever. Try it in another computer, and if you get the same message, get a new flash drive. They have come down in price, a ton, in the past year.

Unplug/replug it several times, sometimes drives that are dodgy occasionally show up, but you should replace it ASAP.

I have a Corsair Flash Voyager which gets the job done quite well, it was quite cheap.

I?ve got one as well like you said good price and nice bit of kit like the neck doodle that you get chain what ever you call it :)

I have a 2 GB PNY Attache. I have had it for about 1-1/2 years, and it works well. It was relatively inexpensive and now is dirt cheap.
Life is good!
