hi guys anyone help my sons pc will not turn on ,done all the cables had back off pc still no joy looked inside and cant find anything so guys any help will be helpful cheers

what is the brand/version (name) or your computer?
does the PSU have a red ribbon in the back of it? if so make sure the voltage (or watt) settings is set to the correct amount for your region?
can you give us a summary of how it happened? what happened before and after?
make sure the 2 pins (sometimes just 1) going to the mother board are in nice 'n snug
try switching the power cable with another cable.....some times the cables go dead LOL

its a packard bell imedia, my son was moving it and he said the front of the box came off and thats all and he put it back on and now it will not turn on

If the front panel came off, the wires that connect the power switch to the motherboard may have come off. Check that.

there seems to be a kind of circut board screwed to the front of the box 1 main cable from the board which goes inside box which goes to some kind of plug thats ok could it be the psu unit.model namw is packardbell imedia 5064

As long as its securely attached at both ends, yes. If it's the PSU, you may need to speak to Packard Bell directly, some PC manufacturers use proprietary power supplies.

Because the case and/or power supply may be designed such that they can only be replaced with an identical unit, and not any old one you can buy. Additionally if you are in the clear to buy a replacement unit, DO NOT get a cheap one from a brand you've never heard of, they go bad very quickly and take components with them. Use a decent brand unit like Corsair or Seasonic.

Possibly, I presumed you would have checked that as part of checking it being connected to the motherboard.

yes done that 1st seems ok ,went on satdownloads and a guy told me to clean the cmos and swap the jumper were is the cmos

he said its a small jumperon pins 2&3 take it off and put it on pins1&2 for about 5 seconds then back on pins 2&3 again then turn pc on he said it may work ,what do u think ?

I'm dubious, BIOS flashes help if the PC powers up but does nothing, but if there's no life from the system at all I doubt a BIOS flash will help.
