Hey! I've searched around for this answer and it seems to be asked a few times, but never really answered. How do I maximise my Upload speed so I can upload like crazy??

I have 17-18Mbps down, and 14-15Mbps up

(18,000kbps/15,000kbps) Yeah, I can upload pretty quick.

I have a few files I'm seeding currently, one of which has 12933 Seeders and 21088 Leechers, yet I am only uploading at ~538kbps. Earlier it was up to 1,300kbps but after I restarted Azureus, it hasn't reached that high again.

So how do I get it to use everyone's connection, and utilize my 15Mbps upload?? I could do some serious seeding, but it's not maxing out. Thanks!

Azureus shows speeds in kilobytes (kBs) and your line speed is in kilobits (kbs). 8kbs = 1kBs. So the 1300kBs (10400kbs) you were seeing in Azureus was pretty close to your max. Data Units

You should be capping your upload in Azureus at 80% of your overall upload ability. Good Settings
So if that 15000kbs (1875kBs) is the result of a speed test, your upload should be capped at 1500kBs.

You mentioned that you are seeding a few torrents. What is your total upload?

The 538kBs (4304kbs) is a pretty good chunk of your upload.
The other torrents you are seeding may be taking up the rest.

Be sure to re-check your ports and make sure its going through your router's firewall if you have one.

You won't max your connection out all the time, no matter how slow or fast your connection is.

Also to maintain optimum upload be sure, as jeffw224 said, to cap your upload at 1500kBs. If you set it to "Unlimited" it actually hinders your uploading ability as far as I know.

When I used the My total upload was just a little higher than that.

The up speed in the bottom right hand corner has never gone over 1.4MB/s when I have tested my connection several times, averaging 14-15MB/s.

I understand I will never really "cap" my up limit with Azureus, but heck, I'm not even getting close.

Thanks for the help, I've set up everything how you said, but I'm not seeing an improvement. I was really hoping the problem wouldn't be with the router, because I don't have access to it, so I can't forward any ports. Thanks again!

I was going to edit my last post to add this, but there was no Edit button for me.

Anyways, Just out of curiousity, I stopped one I was downloading, and watched all my seeds. Since I stopped the other, it was no longer uploading, and as soon as I stopped it, the other files instantly began speeding up. I've checked everything and I have nothing capped. I'm running encryption as well, isn't that "supposed" to bypass any bandwidth limit imposed by my ISP?
