Well Sammorris recommended a e2180 intel dual core 2 duo, which i think is a really good processor for £20. Ill probably be getting that

i currently have a micro-atx board (gigabyte ga-73pvm-s2h) and was wondering what would be the best cooler along with it

here are the options ive considered:

http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Component...productId=20729

http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Component...productId=29655

the price doesnt really matter, as long as the cooler is under £40 and the processor is around £85, but i think ill probably stick with the E1280.

The main query is that will the Fan/cooler be able to sit comfortably in my case, which is a packard bell imedia mce 1615 case.
the mobo is stated above.

if this is possible, then i would definitely like to purchase one of the above, or any other good possibilities.

Preferably, if anyone links to a cpu/fan, could it be from either http://www.aria.co.uk or http://www.microdirect.co.uk

ps. but just on a lighter note, i probably will be able to get these two within a week or so. but just in case i cant will there be any drop in prices shortly in a slightly better cpu?

but atm i think the e1280 would be a really good choice, ive heard its relatively good for overclocking.

{edit} I've read up that these coolers both have either come thermal paste included, or pre-stuck on. Would it be more recomended to use theirs or use some Arctic Cooling MX-2 thermal paste (i have some spare)

the freezer 7 pro now comes with mx2 apllied so leave it but the tx2, i dont know, could be tx-2? could be some unknown white goop.

if you have some mx2 anyway try stock and then change it later and see which is better.

The Freezer 7 Pro is the cooler I would go with, it gave me saisfactory temps at a high overclock and Vcore on my E4300. Your E2180 should probably overclock further given its higher multiplier. The cooler will fit fine, but you won't be able to overclock your CPU at all until you get a new motherboard, the 73PVM does not have overclocking features IIRC.
