With nero 6.19 everything is accurate as to remaining burn time when burning a dvd. With updated software the remaining time starts out 15 minutes when it should be about 55 minutes, however it does take about 55 minutes and the burn is ok, Do other users have this problem or am i the only one? Not that it matters being that the burn is ok , just wondering.
I have a similar timing issue; thought I'd post it to see if anyone else does.
Starting with version 6.0.0.19 and all future version until the latest, 6.3.0.2, when I'm writing an image file to hard drive whenever Norton AntiVirus, any version, AutoProtect is running. It won't always occur, but, it will within 5 attempts to run the job, the writing just stops, but, the counter keeps on going. The software apparently thinks the writing never finished and is still waiting for it to. Maybe yours THINKS it finished when it didn't. :) That's the better situation, though, as it is still going on.
When I go to burn a DVD at any speed it always says that it will take 15 min. The counter counts down, and when it gets to zero the counter dissapears but it continuesto burn. It burns the DVD fine, but it will not burn at 4X. It says that it is burning at 4X, but it takes about a half an hour (it must be burning at 2X). I haven't made a coaster yet, but I bought a 4X burner and 4X media for a reason.
I want to burn at 4X. HELP
I also wanted to add that I am running Windows 2000, and my burner is Pioneer A06U w/ firmware 1.06.
I can't say that this will help, but, it's what I did to solve my problem. Install version 6.0.0.15 with Patch 532, if you have it, as it's an older version Ahead once posted on their site. If not, you can try temporarily disabling Norton AntiVirus AutoProtect if you have it. However, I don't recommend that. :) I just know that in my case, it was caused by any version of Nero starting at 6.0.0.19 if NAV AutoProtect was Enabled. If Disabled, Nero worked fine, then enabled NAV AP.
