I rarely use P2P, but when I do I always use it in a combination with Peer Guardian 2. My question is, for safety reasons should I always leave PG2 on, or is it acceptable to use it while downloading only? Any help would be appreciated.

Assuming you are using it for only its P2P feature (Level 1 list) there is no reason to leave it on when not down/up loading.

So, let's say I downloaded/uploaded file X. As long as I'm not in the process of downloading/uploading then it wouldn't be possible for these certain groups to check up on me and my file.

that's right they won't see anything as long as ur not downloading or uploading
