Problms With American Wedding backup

Has anyone had a problem with american wedding? when I rip and burn everythign works fine (using Dvd Decrypter, IFO editor, then DVD 2 One)However when I go to play it it skips in certain places and then replays the skipped section and then continues for a bit then will stall and skip a bit and so on and so on. almost like The Matrix (original)(if anyone has also had that problem)

I copied it using DVD Shrink and Nero, worked fine for me. plays perfect.. never tried it any other way though.. sorry.

I haven't got that movie, however I am just curious as to why you used another proggy - (Ifoeditor????)
Did it play OK in your pc.......if it did, then as you said it could be a suspect disc.......
...............PIO is no go, DMA all the way...............

Hiya c7015,
the original DVD has some of the elements of a multi-angle film.
you will have to rip it again, either with DVD Decryper set for multi-angle processing OR SmartRipper (my preferred ripper for multi-angle).
Sometimes the VOBs do not contain the correct flags to indicate multi-angle and when you look at the IFOs using IFOEdit then there will be NO indication other than the following:
Look for discrepancies in the Chapter/Cell ID structure (multiple Cells with different IDs where you would expect a single cell/id).
I suspect the content producers/production houses do this sometimes to try and discourage ripping.
I have seen a few films like that, last ones of note were Phantom Menace (scene at the beginning where ship with the 2 Jedi are approaching the trade Federation Mothership) and Tomorrow Never Dies (scene where James Bond is expecting to be executed - just before the exchange on the bridge).
SmartRipper handled both instances happily (DVD Decrypter mis-interpreted).

I ripped it with DVD Decrypter in IFO mode then processed it with DVD2One. Worked fine for me. I made no adjustments for the multi-angle issue.
Adding the IFOedit step seems a bit much, IMO. I typically go into something expecting it to work perfectly the first time, so I wouldn't mess with that stuff until after arriving at a problem. To each his/her own tho. =)
There is no problem so big, that a brick placed against the proper skull cannot fix =)

Thanks for all of the help but the issue was that I overclocked my computer too much to the point that it started to make errors ...these errors showed up in the encoding
and the reason that I use IFO editor on top of dvd decryper and DVD2One is that I can strip and re-encode faster than I could copy all of the files instead of just the movies ones (amd 64 3200+)

I too, ripped the entire DVD using DVD Decrypter and then used DVD2One v1.4 however, ended up skipping as well. Thought it was me so, re-did the entire DVD. I used Nero also to burn and mine skipped / replayed in spots. As a test, I used the same folder and burnt it using CloneDVD and it turned out perfectly. Actually, a little better. For some reason, using Nero, my video turned out a little grainy however, compared to CloneDVD, turned out crystal clear. Can't explain it. Hope it all works out for you.

AMD 64 3200+ AND overclocked, what were you thinking of?
all that trouble because you overclocked it!!!
And you didn't tell us. GRRRRRR!!!!
The FIRST thing you do when ANY problem occurs is CHECK THE HARDWARE.
Overclocking, I don't know:
save a few pennies on kit, save a few seconds once in a while THEN have to deal with all the hassle.
WHY?????

ddint origanly thinki it was a problem as it passed all of the tests I put it through...even the first ripping that obviously wasent as intence becasue of other apps that were runnign
as for kits that overclock they arent quite as good in my oppinion I like tuning by hand.

Hiya,
when I said "kit", it was meant to imply hardware.
Looks like your "Hand Tuning" turned out to be "Hand De-Tuning".
So what cooling system do you have?
Water-cooled?
Phase-change?
Peltier?
Comination of the above?
Is the M/B chipset cooled?
What about airflow?
Positive pressure system?
Dual PSU's with N-Type MOSFET balancer and regulation circuit?
Expensive business, overclocking.

Koolant water cooled with the regular heatsink and fans pusing more air arround
the chipset is just relying on the water and its ambient surroundings as it comes no where near 50 as for psu Enermax EG351-P (wish dont need that much though) just a 500
