ok I am new to the ds I see here people talk about carts m3 ds mm3 simply r4 ect what does this mean and is it important for general paly and enjoyment. also I have seen about firmware up grades how do you do this {i have not yet got this unit yet will be getting one soon]

A flash cart is a cartridge the same size as a commecially produced game which you can use in the DS. The cart allows you to put a number of things on it including games, music, and movies.

Read around on this site and you will start to get it.
