Extra cooling for GPU's

Ive recently found out that you can get after market products that attach to your videocard that will help cool them? I am looking to purchase 1 for my XFX Geforce 8800GT. what is a good brand of cooling for videocards Also I am looking for one to buy that will fit in the medium sized antec 900 case. I plan on bringing my computer up to SLI, so if anyone could help me find a size where I could possibly buy two, or would 1 be enough if I went SLI?

thats really cool, but is there anything that can be just as effective, but not as big? cause the antec case isnt really the biggest thing around =P

Yeah well that's pretty much the most effective air cooler for video cards. All good coolers are up two slots so it's not that different. If you plan on SLI then get the Thermaltake DuOrb, which is ALMOST as good as the HR-03 GT. If you plan on one card then get the Thermalright HR-03.
My 8800GT is the 1GB version so it comes with a cooler that's a little better than the reference one. I have to turn up the fan to full speed to keep up with the OC. You can always try just making the fan run faster.

It's a nice cooler but performance wise it doesn't compare to either the DuOrb or the HR-03 GT.

The VF900 is a very poor cooler compared to the HR-03GT, the Thermalright really is the king of the hill. The Duorb is alright, but for the money the HR-03GT is by far the better solution. Just a word of warning though, for best results buy separate RAMsinks and stick them on with thermal adhesive. The stuff that comes with the RAMsinks Thermalright provide is rubbish.

The HR-03 GT only runs about 4-5 C cooler under load and it requires extra fans, takes up more space, and is more expensive.

Indeed, buut the HR-03GT makes a third as much noise because you can use decent fans.

And that's a problem because? it's the best graphics cooler out there bar none, so be it if it can only use a 92mm fan, it can get the job done perfectly only using a fan of that size. Don't forget, Nexus 92mm fans push lots of air and make practically no noise - they're better than their 120mm ones.
The Accelero S2 only supports up to the X1650, and there's a reason for that - it's crap. The new S1 is better, but even so they're not good coolers. I could cool my X1900XT passively with the HR-03A, the 8800GT is a bit too much heat for passive cooling, but 110W or so and you're fine with them.
By the way, the HR-03GTs only use three slots - they only use five if you install them the other way round, which usually isn't necessary.
The top one is using three slots, the bottom one five. If your motherboard puts a PCIe 16x slot at the very top, it'd only use two.

sam i agreed it was the best, but if your limited, i was advising other wise.
geez, nice to know you keep your options open. im jsut giving people more choice.
sometimes i feel if it were up to you the forum would have people only runnig exactly what you recomend!
and if you want to install it upwards, then you will probably hit the NB cooler on newer mobos, or your CPU cooler wont fit, esp if your using the Tuniq tower or the TRUE or other massive fans...(speaking of which:

Having your options open is all well and good, but the Duorb is a noisy beast, and if you're upgrading your graphics cooler, you may as well do it right and get a quiet one.
That is a monstrous looking heatsink. One can't help but wonder how much better job it does than the slightly more sensible coolers like the Tuniq, Ultra 120 and Ninja.

yeah i see your point now.
not sure, i aint seen any reviews of it yet.
but i dont think it would beat them by mroe than a couple of degrees. i think we have hit a ceiling for air cooling now.

It's not a bad ceiling though to be fair, I mean look at the temps that HR-03 was pulling on that 8800GT even when it was overclocked.
