new system over clock

just built my new computer got the gigabyte p35-ds3l mother board, intel e2160, with 2gb gskill ram, and an evga 8800gt. with corsair 450w psu. i also got a arctic cooling freezer 7 pro so i can over clock this with the arctic silver 5.
so i went into bios to oc the e2160, i was told at 333x9 the chip will be at 3.0ghz. well i did this but it wont boot. i didnt change anything else, the most i can do is 266x9 for 2.39ghz. what am i doing wrong.
also what else can i overclock with my setup, if anyone can point me in the right direction.

it seems like your psu doesn't have a high enough wattage. i'd suggest toning down the voltage on the OC, but will inadvertantly lower the clock. given more wattage you can OC the gfx card and ram

I would say that you need to have a think about what you are doing, as you said, 'I went into bios set 333x9' and didn't do anything else.
There is your problem 'not the PSU'
You need to do some reading before you tweak it, this way you'll know or at least have some idea what you're doing
Even with the 450W PSU you will still be able to OC that system to the speed you want, but you really need to do some homework.

Yeah you will have to change other settings as well. I've managhed to Run that exact same CPU with that exact same motherboard at 3.2Ghz. To do this I had to set the CPU voltage at 1.5, the Ram to +.3 and the FSB and the chipset voltage to +.1. You also need to set the multiplier so your memory isn't running super OC. If you are attempting 3.2Ghz I would suggest setting the CPU multi to 8x, the FSB to 400, and the memory multi to 2.0. Also using the voltages I ran at is kinda high so aim for 3ghz at first with a CPU coltage of 1.45 and see if it works..
You will always need to adjust the CPU voltage though, keep that in mind.

well thats why i came here to see if i could do my homework, if someone could lead me to good info on what i am doing. I am just taking what other people say and using it, not really knowing exactly what it all means. i tried what he said above and when i save it restarts twice and reboots to normal settings.

actually i got it working, used those same settings and in bios it says 3.2ghz when i start windows and under system properties it says 3.6ghz. cpu temp is 37-40 degrees. so seems ok.

By homework, I ment do some reading, not just asking.
I'm glad its all working for you, you should still do the reading as it might help you understand what it is you've just done and help out next time.
I didn't want to sound too offish, but its the same thing time after time, when people can't be bothered to do any of the leg work themselves.

The Corsair VX 450W is ample for a system like that.
RAM Multipliers is usually where people go wrong.

Glad to see it worked out for you. About the 3.6Ghz, it a well known bug in Windows. When you set CPUs that can do 9x multi and you set it to 8x, windows still thinks it's 9x. It's the same with my Q6600.
