DSTT - No ds game inserted?

Ok, so I just got myself one of these toptoy things.
After an initial struggle, I went through the whole of the setup process and was thrilled to find that it worked.

It's been working fine for about a month or two, absolutely no complaints. However, now, it keeps giving me the 'no game inserted' message whenever I try to play.

I tried all the little tricks of pushing the card into the contacts, but now the previously functional toptoy simply will not respond to anything.

My big problem is that I bought this secondhand over amazon, so I doubt that there's anywhere I can go for a refund/replacement.

Anyone have any advice?

maybe not.

Are you using a ds lite.

The reason i ask is i purchased a legal copy of the full metal alchemest card game for my ds and the card game will not boot if you go into the menu first then insert the game however when i insert the game and then start up the ds lite the game works.
