Hey everyone,
I bought a new DVD RW writer today (ASUS) and it wouldn't burn Panasonic DVD RW. I tested with a Philips CD-RW it worked without any problems. Finally, I also tested with a DVD movie and again, no problems.
Does I need to update the firmware? If I do, can you please point to the link? I tried the website but it was full of computer language that I wouldn't understand! I'm a girl, you see? :D
How do you do a log? Mine's Nero 8 if that helps?
Thank you so much. :)

Only tried DVD-RW. I don't have another media here - just Panasonic DVD-RW.
I'm new to DVD burning scene.

no worries - what we / i am trying to get over is dvdr media is one of the most imporatnt parts of dvd burning.
dvdr media has dye inside the disc, each brand carries different types some good some bad.
the best brand are VERBATIM or TY, panasonic not so good and taking this onboard also its an RW makes it even harder sometimes to get a good burn.
------------------
a nero log will tell us alot of info on your system and media. im not sure the location for v8 never needed it.

Kinda gone over my head... Computers are like cars to me... They goes over my head.
Should I return the DVD writer or buy better DVDs?
Thanks

Okay. :( Very disappointed. After seeing threads and threads that it was solved by updating firmware.
I thought Panasonic was one of the popular brand so I'm surprised.
Thanks for your help, very grateful :)

No luck.
I was trying to put photos from two CDs into one DVD. Guess I'll buy new DVDs. :(
Companies should from now put up which DVDs that their DVD writer doesn't like.
