ok.. im completely done.. project is trancoded, shrunk, and burnt..

I have a question about the postgame...

after the burn, nero offers to save the project to the hardrive
(so i can burn later i assume if need be)

Can i delete the original video_ts folder? or does this saved project still need that folder as a reference?
Lame question , i know.. but if the project saved doesn't need the 3-4 gig folder any longer.. that would be sweet.

I could just delete the folder and test on my own,
but i dont wanna waste a disc

So basically, Does a saved completed project still need the video_ts folders on the computer?

if you burnt the dvd and it plays ok for you then get rid of working files.

well if i am able to burn the project later on..without the video_ts folder.. that'd be great.. for when my dvds start getting scratched up.. all i have to do is burn em again quick.. instead of this whole prcess.
Altho i suppose i could just rip em easily back off these new discs

you need the VIDEO_TS folder/contents to burn! remove it and you must start over (if you didnt burn a disc)

also cheap dvdrs wont play/copy after a few months.

Nothing here to see, move along folks.

Well i was confirming what you said.. but you still disagree,
so sorry.. i think you dont understand what im saying...

i have the dvd already burnt...
but i also have the saved project..
ready to burn again at a moments notice...

Now this saved, ready-to-burn .nrd file(the saved project),
is what im talking about.

Will it stil burn without the original video_ts folders on the computer? or does this .nrd file need the video_ts folder for reference?

sorry

yes the film.NRG is all you need to burn off another copy...

so yes delete working folder...
---------------

also you can copy your copy (dvdr to dvdr) so no need to keep the film.NRG either.

1 nrg file isnt too much trouble but 200 takes some space. when if you have 200 dvdrs burnt you can go 1:1 copying.

Nothing here to see, move along folks.

that sounds like the information file that tells the working folder to burn and how to burn (same as last time)

you need the .nrg file, if its not there then you still need the working folder and the nrd is what you click to burn the the working folder, there is no image as such. the working folder is actually the image.
-----------------

i always save as .nrg or iso, 1 single file - (folders/files wrapped up)

by clicking your nrd it will probably load nero up and you'll see all settings for modification etc then click burn

nrg/iso just go straight to burn stage, then click go/burn

both ways very simarlar really, your way has a few files, mine has 1 file, but both do the same thing and are same size.

Nothing here to see, move along folks.

ahh so the .nrg is an img file basically..

1 large file.. image of the disk/w directory of video_ts

While my .nrd is just a project which points to the video_ts folder on the hard drive

so i need the folder still.. well.. im gonna delete it.. no need to save it.. as the .nrg image would be similar in size as the video_ts folder anyways.
None of this would be an issue if i had a larger hard drive.. heh
