Superior discs for photo storage?

I am planning to backup all my photos using Nero 8, which are presently on my hard drive, to disc for long term storage.
Can anyone recommend brand name(s)that offer superior quality in disc manufacture?

there is only one disc = VERBATIM

but if these photos mean everthing to you, dont use dvdrs. backup to an external drive infact back in 2 places to 2 hard drive loacations as hard drives stop working too.

guess what i backup to RAID-1... yup (2 hard drives, mirroring each other)

Thanks IHoe. I have one new 160 GB external hard drive, which has not been used yet but was bought primarily for photo storage. I recently read an article that mentioned burning photos to quality discs for long term storage. If photos were stored on both media, has anyone done tests related to life expectancy? I tried to find a site which had results of this as well as tests on CD & DVD discs but I was unsuccessful. I notice several CD-R brands that are advertised specifically for photo storage. Maybe this is a gimmic? Any further info would be most welcome.
