my nero8 DVD wont burn

I am new to this so please help. I recently had a DVD burner and nero 8 installed in my computer. I want to make a DVD with photos that scroll to music. I burned it onto a DVD but it wont play in either of my home DVD players so I tried playing it on the DVD player on my computer, that didn't work either, but it did play a regular movie. If anyone is out there that knows what the problem is or what I need to do I would appreciate it so much. Thanks.
