Firstly hi all, been a regular reader of this forum for a while and finally now have something to post.

I have some audio files which are in the m3e file format.

Does anyone know of a codec for it, or even better a convertor to get it to be a mp3 i can use properly?

Anyhelp on this would be great.

Thanks, and keep up the cracking forums.

Drop the file on GSpot. It'll tell you what you need to decode it. Or try playing it in VLC (VLC plays almost anything and doesn't use external codecs).

PowerAmp provides a top of the line encoder solution. It is a paid for product with a 30 day trial. It comes with a spy that will allow you to see all the techical information of any music file it supports. That will stay active after the 30 days. In file explorer you just put your arrow on the file and a popbox appears all the info stored in the file. This is truely valuable. I have never heard any experianced serious person recommend any other application for encoding.

I will warn you it will not convert a DRMed file.

Never, convert unless you have to. An m3e would be one of these cases. If any converter can handle an m3e it would be the PowerAmp converter. They list all the codecs they can support. Before your 30 days expire try ripping a few CDs. It will certify that your burner reads correctly. Try ripping some rare CD and see it it is in their databases.
