How difficult is it to do? I have the smaller hinge broken. Glad it wasn't the main one.

For the regular DS. Not lite.

And could someone give me a guide for the disassembly that is in English? XD
I found a great youtube vid, but it's in Spanish.

I learn as I went and it wasn't too easy.

Replugging the ribbon cables for the LCDs and touch screen module are a PAIN IN THE A$$!!!

the top screen on my ds lite was cracked, so i tried to replacing it... took me like 2 hours... the worst part is the ribbon cable,, :/

yea i figured it'd be pretty difficult. i think i'll just deal with the broken hinge instead of trying to replace it, i'd most likely get frustrated and plus i might kill my ds.

Well OP, personally me... I would replace the shell since the hinge is broken and that would bug the hell out of me.

If you do go for it, just remember take your time. If you try to rush you might end up damaging the ribbon cable and force to buy a replacement LCD. Another difficulty is after you insert the ribbon cable is locking it in. Closing the clamps is not too tough but quite frustrating because of the lack of space you have to work with. Not very easy for people with big fingers.

Hit up youtube or google "how to replace DS Lite shell" and you should find alot of websites and videos. Get familiar on it and well again... take your time!!!
