I am going to build a new comp, and i have chosen every part i want, but after 1-2 months, I still can't choose a motherboard. Can anyone give me some suggestions? I was gonna go with nforce 750i, but I watch a lot of videos and that video corruption bug might screw me over. Anyone have any other ideas?
My (planned) build:
Intel C2Q Q9450 (Might OC)
CORSAIR 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400)
Scythe SCZP-1000 139mm CPU Cooler
SAMSUNG SpinPoint T Series HD501LJ 500GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s
2X SAMSUNG 20X DVD±R DVD Burner with LightScribe Black SATA
GeForce 8800 Series (Not sure which one yet)
Antec Nine Hundred Black Steel
If anyone has suggestions for other parts, please share.

Asus P5K-E or Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3R - trust me, you don't want an SLI board.

Thanks. The Asus P5K looks pretty good. The Gigabyte P35 is good too, but I am leaning towards the Asus. What about Intel X38? I have been hearing it's really good.

The X38 is good but it's more geared up for experienced overclockers / enthusiasts. Those who "might OC" probably won't notice the difference.

Hmmm....I guess I have two final options:
1. ABIT IP35 Pro LGA 775 Intel P35 ATX
2. ASUS P5K DELUXE/WIFI-AP LGA 775 Intel P35 ATX
Only one question remains: Asus or Abit?
I might go with the Gigabyte P35 if I hear better things about it. It has amazing reviews on newegg, but it just doesn't seem like a solid board. I like the Abit because it has A LOT of SATA ports, and plenty of USB headers.
So what do you think? My pick will be influenced based on your word.

The Gigabyte is an amazing board - I owned one. It was rock solid, dead easy to overclock with and overall very impressive. I only recommend the Asus board on the back of other people's recommendations, not my first hand experience. As for Abit, I'd stay away, they've had big BIOS issues of late. The only reason I don't still own the P35-DS3R is because I changed to a board with two PCie slots for ATI crossfire.

Gigabyte it is I guess. One quick question though....what are these different kinds of PCI express 16x I keep seeing on MB's when one is x16 and the other PCI-E is x4 or something??
And what MB do you recommend if I actually wanted a crossfire or something with two slots for a graphics card?

In general, I wouldn't recommend crossfire, especially given the new graphics cards that are coming out quite soon. It's only real use is to get a performance boost when there is no single card that can be that fast, i.e. for the relatively rich - I've only done it because I had a spare card lying around I had to use, and it really was a trial getting it up and running. I'd say it's best avoided.
