I'm using Evox and I'm trying to run Xbox games off the HD.

I put an .iso file in G:/Games and it won't recognize the game in Evox.

Upon further reading it seems I need to:

1. Make a game folder
2. Put the .iso in there
3. Somehow acquire a default.xbe

I have a default.xbe, but have no means of editing it. It would be nice if someone could explain or link me to an explanation of how to make or edit default.xbe files.

Also, my Xbox is refusing to let me delete the .iso even after multiple new FTP connections and Xbox restarts. So how do I delete the .iso off the HD? I deleted it through XBMC

Thanks

EDIT
3. To get a default.XBE
"After looking on the net, I got some results.
get attach.xbe from XBINS -path is /XBOX/apps/filemanagers/driveimageutils/

edit the Game title of attach.xbe to nbalive06 use c-xbox tool or any other xbe title renamer. if you dont edit, the title of the game it will be ATTACHER VIRTUAL DISC.

Once that is done rename the attach.xbe to default.xbe"

I'm downloading C-Xbox Tool for the .xbe editing from here:
http://www.tacoban.eu/cxboxtool/?src=tutorial

Hopefully I'll be able to make this work for me.

EDIT2
Okay so Evox recognized the game was there, but it booted to a blank screen. I extracted the .iso in C-Xbox and am currently trying the default.xbe file that was on the .iso.

EDIT3
It didn't even go to blank screen, it just seemed to freeze on my Evox loading screen.

I NEED HELP HERE!

Thanks to everyone for enlightening me!

ok....you are trying a little too hard. here is what i would do:

Solution1: I would burn the iso into a disk that way if your xbox crashes or looses data, you wont loose your game.(Make sure you know what brand and type of dvd disks you xbox takes, usually DVD-R) After burning it just pop into the xbox and use DVD2Xbox to copy the game to your xbox.

Solution2: Get a program that lets you extract the contents of the iso. Now with everything extracted from the iso make a folder named the same as the game. FTP into your xbox and dump the folder in you G: or F: drive. Reboot your xbox and enjoy your game.

I'm trying not to use DVD2Xbox because I want the laser in my Xbox to live a long life.

I will try your solution 2 now.

EDIT
IT WORKED, THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!

EDIT2
This is so much BS!!

Star Wars Republic Commando works now, but whatever profile name I try to use is refused and the game won't start,
"WARNING
Sorry, you cannot create a profile beginning with"

So I can't play the game, god such demons to work through.

Can profiles be loaded from another game?

Like if I made a profile for another game and restarted Republic Commando, would it be able to already have the profile name ready from the other game?

Thanks to everyone for enlightening me!

I see why not, it will be just like using game saves. If anything else, boot your MS dashbaord, and go into your memory. Look for Star Wars Republic Commando game 'profile' (not the game itself) and erase it. Maybe that will help.

See whenever you first play a game, your xbox saves a profile of all the games you have played. Maybe by erasing it, it will eliminate the problem you have.

And if that dont work them maybe you got bad disk image.

Upon further investigation the game was in Spanish and would only accept a Spanish profile.

So I used UnleashX as an application, went to the MS Dashboard through UnleashX, changed the language to Spanish, rebooted the system, launched the game, and was able to create a profile.

Afterwards, I did the whole process over again to switch it back to English.

Thanks to everyone for enlightening me!

Now my Xbox keeps freezing randomly while playing Republic Commando off the HD.

My HD, CPU, and MB temps are over 50, is this normal?

This is the first time this has started occurring today.

Thanks to everyone for enlightening me!

Hi all,

I'm looking to buy an xbox360 (looking at the cheapest "Arcade" version). However I heard that there is no hdd in it, so after some reading, I can always buy an external usb HDD (e.g. 2.5 inch 500gb)...

Anyway, after browsing through lots and lots of old threads and forums, I'm still unsure whether I can do the following: (If possible, do you experts out there have some step by step instructions?.

1. Download iso's off the www or create iso's from orig. games (blockbuzter etc
2. put them into the ext. HDD
3. hookup to the 360 and load the iso's

And yes, I've read about the new official MS Xbox experience software can backup games 100% onto HDD, but that requires the orig. game though...so....

Thanks alot

I don't think it helps to revive very old threads about the original Xbox and ask about Xbox 360, this should be posted in the Xbox 360 section.

I don't think what you asked can be done yet, but I'm not sure. So look it up youself here:

Which programs will do this? Thanks.

power iso is a nice program that will let you do exactly that. Just remember your default.xbe has to be in the games folder under the particular games name or it will not reconize it on the dash.
