Hi. I am building a new pc for games in a few weeks. I have been looking on the net and it seems like a game called "crisis" is the pinnacle of computer games as far as graphics is concerned.

Will the following pc play this game?

* XFX MG-630-7159 NVIDIA NForce motherboard.

* Mushkin 2x1 gig DDR2 800Mhz Ram.

* Western Digital 250 gig HDD sataII.

* Intel Core 2 Duo E4600 CPU (2.4Ghz).

* Galaxy 8800 gt 512mb.

Yes, and relatively well. I wouldn't worry yourself too much about Crysis if you're not that interested though, it's graphically quite impressive, but in my mind there are more enjoyable games out there.

Yeah that PC would run Crysis just fine. BTW, why did you pick that particular motherboard? Also I would get an E7200 instead of an E4600.

Side-note: Man, there are a LOT of new people in the PC building section!

Alright. I personally don't trust Nvidia chipsets after hearing all the shit about them. Can't you get something like a Gigabyte Ga-p35-ds3l?

Indeed, nvidia chipsets are bunk, especially the 600s.

When I'm in doubt I always check system requirements lab. It gives pretty good readings.

No, Albatron are not a good brand. For that money you could get a Gigabyte EP35-DS3R, a very nice board indeed.

Parts list looks fine, but I'd go with an XFX or BFG graphics card instead.

You still paid WAY too much. I don't even think the 8800GT was out back then. Anyway, prices dropped a lot, so you're good to go now.

Alright, whatever. Do what you will.

The 8800GT was released October, 27 2007. It's not even been a year yet. I'm not calling you a liar, I just think you are talking about some other card because the 8800GT was NEVER 450.

Indeed, I've never seen a GT above 300 dollars, you're probably thinking of the 8800GTX, which came out October 2006 ish, at a price of around 500 dollars. To this day the 8800GTX is still faster than the 8800GT, but not by very much.

Can't honestly tell the difference between them in use. I still think it's a stupid amount of money to pay out to play a pretty crap game.

Whatever.. it's your money.. personally I wouldn't bother because this gaming on pc is just an endless cycle of paying out more and more in never ending upgrades. It's a conspiracy I tell ya ;)
