Silver ps2 soft mod...
Model scph77001 has three sensors, and Model scph79001 has only two sensors. (scph79001 doesn?t have the sensor inside the ps2 in the back).
What you need is...
1. A silver ps2 or a black slim PS2,
2. ARMAX EVO with pen drive,
3. cd loader,
4. ulaunch 4.09 works well,
5.cogswap,
6. snes station,
7. max media creator,
8. DVD decrypter,
9. independence compiler 4.0,
10. cdgenps2 2v3,
11. infones,
12.savebuilder..
GETTING STARTED...
To soft mod,First, use some thin cardboard ( like from rolling papers), slide a small piece under disc bar, push disc bar back, fold cardboard up and over and tape. Then, put shit paper (T.P.) over the hole by the power button. Let the lid push the tissue in. If u have three sensors, then use a flat straw on this annoying thid sensor to push it down and tape. Or open your ps2 and use your brain on how to keep that button down.. *WARNING* Don?t tape. It will push over time and you?ll have to re-do it. Be careful is all I can say. That?s how I lost my slim black. But now im happy cause my new silver only has two sensors.
Put cdloader on pen drive using Max Media Creator. Boot ARMAX and pick ?media player.? cdloader will boot if you got the right one. This will launch the cds you make. cdloader will boot psx, cd,(cd-r).
PUTTING PROGRAMS ON MC CARD...
run ind-comp-4.0 loader. T.DB. Leave as is. LOADER pick ?other? and put ulaunch 4.09. IP OPTIONS leave as is. FILES pick cogswap, snes station, infones...etc. at end say no on install only, then save as xps file.
Start Save Builder, pick open the file that you made with ind-comp-4.0, and save as max 3. cut and paste on USB chip. Boot ARMAX, pick ?my devices?, delete the configuration file on mc card. Now go to USB and uncrush the file you made. We now have our programs on MC card.
MAKING YOUR CDs...
run ind-comp-4.0...?title DB? leave as is. ?Loader? pick ?other? and find and pick ulaunch 4.09. files, now pick ulaunch.cnf, speeddial. And snes station, cogswap. Now we move to ?extras?.. Set the dummy file to 200-250.
Now create exploit. Pick ?no on install only? and then pick ?save out put files?.
Now we start cdgenps2 up.
put the file you made with ind-comp-4.0 (drag and drop will work). Now add your ROM?s file. This should be second on the list. Now create a bin-que file. And burn with DVD decrypter.
BOOTING YOUR CD...
boot ARMAX with all sensors the way we want them. Pick ?media player?, load cd loader. The lower left screen will read ?ps2 cd?, hit the button to open the lid, make sure it still says ?ps2 cd?. Put your home-brewed cd in and play. Or put ps1 backup cd-R in, they will boot also. For cog swap, boot ulaunch, press (circle), mco, press (circle), badadata systems, press (circle), pick cog swap. Once running cd has stopped, open the lid, put in a high TOC game, ?Onimusha 3" is good for this. Take out shit paper, ball it up again, put over the hole and shut lid. The first cd on a screen is blue. We change it by the above action to yellow, once it is yellow, press X.. The cd on the screen should be purple, open, make sure cd stays purple, now put in your backup.
If all goes well, you will have snes running etc.
It?s up to you how you want to make your boot cd and your roms cd. you can put roms on a cd that will boot. INFONES will only run roms this way. For SNES you can make a boot cd and once snes station is running, press ?start? and change cd with roms on it. This is my first tutorial, hope its eazy for people like me! MIC420

Lol HG27 I agree.
@ mic420 - you may want to click the icon in the top right corner of your post and edit your post to sentences, so maybe someone can have a chance at understanding it.

It will definitely help if you can seperate it into paragraphs and bullet points.

That is much better mic429, but yes it would be better if when you are editing it, too hit enter after each sentence so they are in point form.
Hit enter twice to make a couple spaces between topics.

Well done mic420 you have now passed Afterdawn's Forum Posting 101 lesson, lol.
Welcome to Afterdawn, and you now know how to post properly.
We all had to learn somewhere, lol. Good job.
Your tutorial is fine and all, but there are simpler methods to make the exploit.
You can just use Ps2 Exploit Utility 5.1, a forum search will bring it up.
SNES station can be loaded from mc or usb drive, plus the roms can be stored on the usb drive.
How to mod a PS2 79001 has been posted with pics, and actually some of them need all 3 sensors blocked and some only need 2.
There are pics also posted how to tape and tissue or use Straw and cardboard method for PS2.
There is also now the new mcloader that will let you launch elf files from the mc.

Lots of tutorials on Afterdawn, one only needs to search.

Yep, that search tool is really handy. Chances are someone else has already asked your question in the past. Brought to you by google, lol.
Good job man on passing the lesson man, brought to by AD members.
