hi i am goin nuts here trying to find a way to fix my sound but everthing im trying dont seem to work.

its not a new build i bought it about 2 years ago from dell but my friend recently restored it with windows xp profesional when it was originally home edition.
if it is disabled in the bios how do i activate it?

not 100% sure but i actually tried installing the drivers myself and nothing worked it downloaded fine but still no sound. im really starting to give up on this now ive run out of ideas, any ideas?
