Hi. I tried posting my question in some of the other threads but they've all been closed and don't answer my question.
I have been getting sooo many errors when burning a dvd with many different programs (Pinnacle, Nero). I was wondering if someone could take a look at my log and see if they can see the problem? THANK YOU!

Are you getting the same errors using +R and -R media as with the RW media as in this log? InfoDisc, the manufacturer of the media used in this log, isn't very good quality media. I would try some Verbatim +R at 8X burn speed if you haven't already.
You might also want to check the cabling between the motherboard and your drive to make sure it is firmly seated at both ends.
Can you burn CDs?
Any problems ripping(reading) DVDs?
Try creating an ISO image file from your folder of files with Nero (use the image recorder as the output device instead of your DVD burner) and then try burning that image file with ImgBurn.

CDs burn blank and it doesn't matter if it's +R -R or +RW or -RW it does the same thing. I will try using a different brand. I have used Memorex and Maxell, but I'll try something else.
I have no problem reading or ripping DVDs.
I will also try those other things you mentioned. Thanks so much!

If none of the troubleshooting hints solve the problem, is there another system you could install the drive in to see if it works there?

Well, so far so good. I was able to burn 2 VIDEO DVDs and 5 or 6 DATA DVDs and they all burned fine. Hopefully it stays that way.

did you take it off simulate / psuedo write / test write?
or change discs from these bada$$ mofo's that arnt worthy of being a coaster even to have my mug of coffee sat on it! ;-]

I created disc content in Pinnacle first and then burned it with Nero. But the Memorex discs worked fine. I didn't have to change them.
