Hi folks as you see from my subject when i have bitlord running my internet stops working, (apart from ofcourse bitlord)

ive not long formated my computer and reinstalled bitlord so i know it all used to work but for some reason now when i open BL nothing else runs its well strange and have no clue why this is, i tryed Utorrent to see if that does the same but that works fine with my IE's but speeds on that were dire so am back with BL and want to stay with it, if someone has any idea at all, even a guess to why am getting this problem id be very thankful

thanks all who take the time to try help

Ricky

BitLord is based on an old version of BitComet and full of bugs, could very well be that. Try turning down your Global Connections too, if you have that option. I'd still switch clients, get it set up and see how your speeds go.

it is very strange as when bitlord is running the browsers dont even open, they just sit idle in my taskmanager untill i shut down bitlord,
but i seem to have found something else, once i close bitlord sometimes they still dont open untill i end the tesk spoolsv.exe which is strange with that being only something that handles print and fax jobs on the comp.

am not really use what to try to be honest,
ive tryed Getright, Utorrent, Azureus and some others i cant think off hand the names and when it comes to speed bitlord has outdone them on my comp/net no idea why but it just always has done and ive never had problems with it until now.
any more help would be great,

ty

Could be a virus, run a couple of online scans, Panda Activescan and Trend Housecalls seem good and Dr Web's Cureit is excellent from what I read. I know I once reformatted while still connected to the web and got infected before I could even install an AV, never again. I know nothing of spoolsv.exe but it seems it can cause trouble taking up CPU, Google it and I saw this: http://www.computerhope.com/issues/ch000914.htm but Windows needs it, so be careful. I'm still leaning towards BL, have you ever seen this behavior with any other client. Could be a corrupt install too, try uninstalling and reinstalling it.

i dont think its a virus but could be wrong. and no ive never had this happen before, not with anything tbh.
nothing takes up my cpu when bitlords running thats what i find strange. everything else opens apart from IE/FF but the other things that do open will not connect to the net until i kill BL ill keep tryin diffrent things to see if anything sorts it tho then let yah know

I don't usually recommend this but if your using public sites, try BitComet, should be a similar gui. It supports Protocol Encryption too, not your issue but good: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/395674, uncheck UPnP if it's there, allow it through any firewall or router, set your upload correctly (these are for all clients).

Thanks for all the help misty, nice of you.

I uninstaled bitlord today and tryed ABC which worked with IE/FF. used to use it and again am getting real bad DL rates, no idea why its only bitlord i get good rates. anyway i downloaded bitlord again and instaled it and again my IE/FF wont connect, driving me nutz as my gf is having no problems and we are both using the same connection,
ill try what you said if i get no luck with that ill try my luck with Bitcomet and if all fails then it looks like my comp will be idle when downloading lol :P
thanks again. ill let you know how it goes

I believe BL is a selfish client and cheats which is why it's banned on private sites. Make sure your upload is set to 80%, that will affect your download speed, could just be hitting the torrents at a down time. Let things download for awhile.

Don't use KIS, so don't know. Is BL set as an exception in it's firewall or KIS itself? Should be fine to close the firewall when you're downloading but not the AV. Is Window's firewall active? Edit: parental control?

all are set to exception in windows firewall and in Kaspersky i cant seem to add anything coz it asks me to set values for the underlined parameters when i try add rules for bitlord or anything else as i dont really know what its asking me to do,
i really cant understand whats going on because just now am able to get FF working with bitlord running and KIS turned on, i just think my comp is taking the p*ss out of me lol

Ask or look around over at the Kaspersky forum: http://forum.kaspersky.com/ or someone here must use it, BL needs to be an exception. I don't think you need the Windows firewall, try it disabled, could be a conflict.

hiya well i think thats it sorted now, it must have been a conflict with windows fire wall and KIS. i turned off KIS's firewall and everything works fine and stays fine, just strange its never done it before, maybe an update messed it up or something i dunno but main thing is that its fine now, thanks alot for your help misty,

all the best
ricky :)

Good, it can take awhile for problems to show up. Years ago, I trialled KAV and purchased it on that basis only to find it disabled itself every two weeks or so without showing except in its log. Never did find out the conflict, top tier product with excellent support but I couldn't use it.
