There are several free applications that can do this, one that comes to mind is 'SUPER' i'm not sure the URL but you can find it at freewarefiles.com there are a lot of other audio converters on there that support batch encoding but SUPER is the main one that comes to mind for its sheer multiformat compatibility. its actually kind of scary how many file types it supports for input/output.

but be wary, it is a bit bloated but it gets the job done, WELL.

Yeah, I have tried Super it was a bit over the top and a bit buggy when i tried it. Maybe I should take a look at it again.

By the way, you don´t happen to recall the names of the other converters. I usually use Mediacoder for conversion. Works great but it does not have full directory-preserving conversion yet.

Any Audio Converter:

OR

LameXP:

If you want to spring for some cash PowerAmp is the high end.

You get the same quality for free using LameXP already mentioned. I would advise NOT to convert unless you have to. You always risk losing quality when you convert. Almost anything will play MP3s.

Have tried Advanced MP3 Converter now. It does batch-conversion but only on files not directories.

Try PowerAmp. You get 30 days free plus the invaluable file browser that works after the trial period. Try ripping that is when all those extra services pay off. It will do a disk if you tell it to. If you convert to a constanct bit rate it will maintain the BR. This is real handy when processing large batches that have different BRs. It uses the best encoders because it is a paid for app.

@Mez,PowerAmp actually seems to be the thing. Freware/Payware I dont mind. Haven´t gotten it to work yet though. Have to read up on the ner-files. But it appears to be able to do the things I want.
Will give it another try a bit later.

No, Poweramp does not cut it. Why? It does not preserve the original directory-structure.
