Hi, I'm kind of new to the whole burning world but i just discovered the iso and vob file downloads that contain all aspects of a dvd from torrent sites. I had been burning just avi files and making my own menus with Nero. Now, I'm wondering after I download the vob files along with the bup and ifo files how i burn them with Nero. Please, someone help me.

you put them in, wait for it!

"DVD-Video" project

nero makes the VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders for you, and you put your bup/ifo/vob inside the VIDEO_TS folder and burn.

enjoy... and welcome to AD!

iso is the same as ifo/bup/vob wrapped, i use imgburn a free awesome app to burn iso, infact you can use it to burn ifo/bup/vob and dump nero!

Nothing here to see, move along folks.

lol well I said I was a newbie! Anyway I tried to burn with Nero the way you said but it just makes its own menu and its just the movie. I guess the whole vob thing doesnt necessarily mean that it includes the actual dvd menu and extras...?

i think actual dvd downloads (torrents) of like 4+ gig do have the menu (or part of it) it just looks good but doesnt carry any extras, seems a waste to me, why have the menu taking up space you need for valuble quailty of main movie.

does the torrent NFO say it has a menu or is it really the movie only?

Nothing here to see, move along folks.

I have no idea what a torrent nfo is. lol I'm sorry. But yea I keep trying to burn but no nero burning product will even accept a drag and drop of these vob files. Now, the files are all in pieces, like it will say vts_05_01, vts_05_02 etc. Do i have to somehow combine these files first or something? Please help! And keep it simple cause I'M stupid :D

tell me the WHOLE name of the file you downloaded from a torrent site.

and list all the files you found inside the winRAR file

NFO = iNFO, meaning iNFOrmation file like a word doc, proper torrents all have one!

---------

try loading the files from the torrent RAR into dvdshrink and output as iso, then burn with imgburn.

Nothing here to see, move along folks.

To burn any dvd converted to VOB you may like to use CopytoDVD. Its cheaper and better than bulky Nero and you can use it or a month without registration.
Any DVD converted to VOB will have two folders
(1) AUDIO_TS - which is always empty
(2) VIDEO_TS - which contains a INFO file.
to burn to a blank DVD using copytodvd justopen up copytodvd select File/Project/New
From the new project box select New DVD Video
click ok goto where your dvd folders are and then select the VIDEO_TS FOLDER - copytodvd finds the INFO file select Open and copytodvd adds all the files automatically and you can see them all in its left hand window - just click burn and your done

Hi I am having problems with this. I have a folder where an avi and sub file have been converted to DVD by winavi Video convertor. The new folder is called DVD_01_1. I open NeroVision Express 3 ,by selecting Make your own DVD on Nero StartSmart in Nero 6 Reloaded, I then drag the DVD_01_1 folder on to Express and it takes the first VTS_01_0.VOB fine, but when it takes then next one. VTS_01_1.VOB it then comes up Analyzing Media Files and then closes without doing anything, it then just reopens StartSmart with no error message to explain anything. I have only just installed Nero 6 reloaded and have reinstalled it again but still the same thing keeps happening :(

Hi me again :)
Tried this CopytoDVD instead of nero. Followed the above isntructions, but im now just going round in circles.
After clicking burn it comes up COPY TO DVD - (PID1300)using ISO image File Destination. Building ISO image on HD it then starts filling up green bars across box as timer runs down.

After that it states Image File "C:/Documents & Settings/....Video_TS/MOVIENAME.ISO" created. Do you want to open Conatining folder? I click yes and it opens folder to show i have now got a file inside along with other VOB files that has a disk with a green arrow wrapped around it. What do i do now?

i was just explaining burning the video and audio folders left on your hardisk after going through a software rip, save to disk or whatever
Obviously you going wrong some-where - Looks like your dealing with ISO
Instructions for video olders only - just open up copytodvd manager . drag and drop your VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders into the default Create DVD r/h pane (hopefully the video_ts folder is not blank?) and press burn to burn the video - that should be all - an ISO / Cue can be burned in copytodvd too by using the menu bar ->Action/WriteIso/Cue in the copytodvd manager window- hope it helps

Oh also make sure your DVD burner is recognized - yu may have selected the burner as ISO - in the middle of the copytodvd manager's meun br you should see your DVD burner shown ie F:\DVD Writer model if you click on the arrow you can choose burn to ISO(store on hard drive as ISO) make sure copytodvd can see your DVD burner

ok just a settings problem, make sure your DVD burner is recognized - you have selected the burner as ISO - in the middle of the copytodvd manager's meun bar you should see your DVD burner/player highlighted? ie F:\DVD Writer model and if you click on the little arrow you can choose either to burn to ISO(store on hard drive as ISO)or choose to burn to your dvd drive so make sure copytodvd can see your DVD burner/player and your dvd burner/player is the choice selected
