i just built this pc and i cant get to work at the potential that it should because it keeps running hot here are the specs. Idle it stays at about 33 to 36 degrees c.

that isnt all that hot. my amd black 5000+ runs that idle as well when the room temps are 'comfortable'.

That idle temp is fine. It's the load temperatures that matter.

the idle temp is fine but the load temp gets all the way up to 85 degrees and then i have to stop what i am doing. it only takes about a few seconds for it to get back to the idle temp but what good is a computetr that has a good idle temp but the load temp is awful what can i do to get the cpu to stay cool with at least a 75 percent load

RAIDMAX Sagitta 2 928 WO Black/ Orange Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

and i am using the cooler that came with the processor. I read reviews of people with the same cpu and they said that they overclocked their cpu with the stock heatsink and fan and they have no problems whatsoever with cooling temps. They have temp of 45 and 50 degrees with a full load on the cpu

yes. I might need to add one last thing. My motherboard came with a program that lets me overclock the entire system while in windows. I used the program and set it on extreme. when i rebooted i forgot that it was set on extreme and i let the processor get hot. But the thing is that the computer was set to shut down when the psu got hotter than 89 degrees. so i let it cool for like 12 hours and reset the cmos to the factory default settings.

The PSU? How did you measure the temperature of that?
Generally, avoid overclocking with the stock cooler - it can be done, but it's not wise.

i didnt mean the psu i meant the cpu. I was told that as long as the computer shuts down at a certain temp, to keep from damaging the cpu, that the cpu would be fine. I just want to know if the cpu is bad now because of that mistake, or if there is a problem with the motherboard. If possible could someone inform me of all of the factors that may cause a heating of the cpu the heat up so fast

Is the fan working on your CPU cooler? You might want to try getting some Thermal paste remover and Arctic silver - wiping the existing stuff off and putting down some Arctic silver on the CPU instead, that should help your temps significantly.
