please can u tell me what i done wrong i followed the guide on here on how to convert avi to dvd i converted it to mpg but how do i get it to vob i went to author it with ifo edit but it would not take the mpg please can some 1 help me as it is now doing my head in thanks a lot
Do you mean mpeg2? I tried using TMPGEnc but it kept screwing up my files when copying them. D/led trial version of dvd labs and got a hold of Nero express 2 and the mpeg2 encoder.
Nero's converting process has so far been perfect, every file i convert to VOB is perfect, tho obviously source quality will affect it overall. But unfortunately i've tried using Nero express to make a dvd, but it isn't recognised, even by it's own player. So i used dvd labs, import the now VOB files, and before you know it, you have a dvd full of Krystal Steel video clips, extra pages and the like.
I would have preferred to use Nero to burn the disks, and i'll eventually figure out what's wrong with it, but at the mo' it's working a treat converting the files to VOB. Files that other programs wouldn't convert, Nero does easily, whoever made the plugin deserves a round of applause.
Hmmm, that wou;dn't have helped you at all i guess. If you can borrow Nero express 2 off a mate might be worth having a play with it, tho i haven't used the latest version that has recode2, tho i'm eager to try that out.
Meanwhile i sorted my issues out with DVD Shrink and am once more on the road to dvd burning, best of luck.
