I use Vuze to dl my torrents and i am lucky to get 25Kbps. I have correctly forwarded my port and have the green smiley but it is still very slow, I have SBC (i think its AT&T now) yahoo DSL and a wireless B card.

Try disabling UPnP and set your upload speed to 80%.

It didn't work, do i have to re-start the torrent to see changes in download speeds?

Not that I know of. When you set your upload speed, did you take into account the difference in kb and kB, 8 kb = 1 kB? Edit: is your port over 50,000?

I think I edited my reply the same time you posted, use a port over 50,000. Try either of these downloads to see, Close anything, don't download anything else and let them run 15 - 20 minutes. I can't check now but yesterday they gave good results. There's your answer, lucky to get 25 kbps. Those seeds probably have their upload set way down.
