Hello,

I encountered a copy protection error while backing-up a DVD using DVD Shrink. I though that DVD Shrink can bypass copy protection on DVDs. Advice anyone? Thanks.

It does and usually will. If you find a problem DVD try DVD Decrypter.

...jus curious...you sure it was a copy protection error or a CRC error?

I encountered a DVD today that Shrink 3.1.3 wouldn't decrypt and rip. It got to the 84% area and tossed up an error - a copy protection error. I closed 3.1.3 and ran DVD Shrink 3.05beta on it - it backed up the DVD with no errors being tossed at me.

Mmmmmaybe that's why DVD Shrink 3.1.4b is in the works?

Hello RWG and DaOsT,

Hey, it worked!!! I tried it one more time. This time I wiped the surface of the DVD before ripping it and, viola, it worked.

Thank you for your help.

jlim

PS-Yes, the error message was a copy protection error.

Just don't use brake cleaner to clean your DVDs. I could never get it to work right ;)
